Nelson Mandela:

“For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains,

but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others. “

this is a powerful application of the first NLP presupposition:

'Respect for the model of the world of the other and de model of the world of yourself.'

Mandela’s transformation:

From a boxer:

"I did not enjoy the violence of boxing so much as the science of it.

I was intrigued by how one moved one's body to protect oneself,

how one used a strategy both to attack and retreat,

how one paced onself over a match.

Boxing is egalitarian.

In the ring, rank, age, color, and wealth are irrelevant . . .

I never did any real fighting after I entered politics.

My main interest was in training;…..”

To a freedom fighter

“In my country we go to prison first and then become President. “

Quotes from Mandela and some NLP-presuppositions he used:

“After climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb. “

NLP presupposition No 6: Behavior is adaptable and the actual behavior is the best choice there is.

"Does anybody really think that they didn't get what they had because they didn't have the talent or the strength or the endurance or the commitment?"

NLP presupposition No 6:. Everyone has all of the resources s/he needs.

NLP presupposition No 7. Every behavior has a positive intention.
